Franck Ribéry Denies Allegations After Name Appears in Epstein-Related Document, Plans Legal Action

Former France international footballer Franck Ribéry has strongly denied any wrongdoing after his name appeared in an anonymized document linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case, describing the claims as false and defamatory.
Ribéry, 42, was mentioned in a 2019 anonymized file that surfaced among a large batch of documents recently released by the United States Department of Justice. The files relate to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and include references to numerous public figures, triggering widespread speculation online.
On Tuesday, February 10, Franck Ribéry’s lawyer confirmed that the former Bayern Munich star intends to take legal action, saying the information circulating about his client is entirely untrue.
Franck Ribéry’s Lawyer Dismisses Claims as “False Information”
In a statement, Ribéry’s attorney, Carlo Alberto Brusa, condemned what he described as the spread of “false information” on social media, which he says misleadingly suggests that the former footballer was involved in the Epstein affair.
The document in question, a 38-page letter reportedly sent to U.S. judicial authorities, contains unverified accusations and references to multiple individuals. Within it, Ribéry is portrayed in connection with prostitution-related claims and alleged violent behavior toward a woman. His legal team firmly rejects all such assertions.
According to Brusa, the letter is “completely unfounded” and has no factual basis, stressing that Ribéry has no connection whatsoever to the individuals or disputes behind the document.

“A Baseless and Absurd Letter,” Ribéry Says
Ribéry has “formally and unequivocally” denied all allegations mentioned in the document, his lawyer said, describing it as the product of a personal vendetta between parties unrelated to the footballer.
Given the seriousness of the accusations and their rapid spread online, Ribéry has decided to file criminal complaints against the author of the letter, whom his legal team says has been identified, as well as against individuals who continue to circulate or amplify the claims on social media platforms.
Franck Ribéry, who retired from professional football in 2022, says the legal action is necessary to protect his reputation and prevent further dissemination of what he calls defamatory content.
