Prophet ElBernard Public Apology and Personal Reflection

In a formal statement released on January 31, Prophet ElBernard acknowledged his error openly, saying the prophetic word he declared “did not come to pass” and expressing personal remorse. He took full responsibility for the inaccurate prediction and issued a heartfelt apology to those who trusted and were affected by his words.

“I missed it. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness,” he said, expressing understanding that people who placed trust in his message may have been disappointed, emotionally affected, or spiritually unsettled.

The pastor emphasised that the pause from public teaching, preaching, and prophetic declarations is a temporary and voluntary season of reflection, prayer, counsel, and strengthening of accountability in how prophetic insights are communicated.

He clarified that this decision does not mean he is abandoning ministry altogether, but rather that he will focus on quieter pastoral responsibilities and personal spiritual growth.

Broader Debate Over Prophecy in Politics

The episode has drawn significant public and media attention in Ghana, prompting broader discussions about the role and responsibility of religious leaders when engaging with political forecasts. Some commentators note that this situation highlights the risks of linking spiritual authority too closely to political outcomes, especially when public expectation and emotion are involved.

Analysts suggest this moment could lead to deeper reflection within religious communities on how prophetic messages are shared, particularly when they intersect with national political events.
